We parked the car in the unpaid parking lot near the library in Havlickuv Brod. We walked through the picturesque square with churches and picturesque painted houses. Then we walked along the Sázava River, where we saw two loons, lots of ducks and a few nutria.
We followed the blue trail along the Usobský brook to Michalovice, where we changed to the green trail and came across the Abrahám pond. A beautiful pond Abraham with an adjacent wetland, without people and with clean water. We bathed and went on. We got a little lost in the woods - but we had a path without a sign. Fortunately, it didn't matter, because all roads led to Krásná Hora.
From there, on the other hand, we had a sign, but we didn't have a path, it was worse. We pushed our way through the bushes, a couple of times considering whether it would be better to go straight through the stream. In the end, we successfully managed the path and we walked almost all the way to Brod on asphalt. Suddenly we missed the bush again.
This is an easy day trip through the Czech countryside, along forest and field paths. There is no exposed or otherwise difficult section on the whole route.
You can draw water from the Úsobcký Brook, along which almost a third of the path runs along the blue trail. But I would recommend to get water from the stream only after filtration. I carried my own drinking water, about 1.5 liters was enough for the trip.
There are no dangers on this trip - no wild beasts, no dangerous or difficult sections. Just a leisurely hike.
We had a packed lunch, but there are several restaurants in Havlickuv Brod where you can eat well. Personally, I recommend the Motorest pod Hradem pub on the road to Humpolec, where they have excellent venison specialties and if you run low, you can also go there to see the ruins of Orlik.
