Mountains Allgäus Alps

The Allgäu Alps (German: Allgäuer Alpen), unlike other mountain ranges in the Northern Alps, stretch in a continuous ridge. The highest peaks, including the highest mountain, Grosser Krottenkopf, can be found in the main Hornbachkette ridge. The most famous and probably most beautiful peak, the Hochvogel, is located in the Hochvogelgruppe.

The peaks are often accessible via secured paths. In the south, the mountains are separated from the Lechtal Alps by the long Lechtal mountain range. Hiking is more common from the south, as the peaks are more accessible from the south.
